About Us

The Summit County Library Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 entity formed in 1991. Its mission is to serve as an advocate for the Summit County Library System and to provide financial support beyond the Library’s normal operating expenditures, when unanticipated needs arise, and for capital projects. The Foundation is served by an all volunteer Board of Directors drawn from interested residents of Summit County. If you are interested in finding out more about the Foundation and its activities please call Pat Taylor at 970-262-5940.

Our largest fundraising project has been for the new South Branch Library, which opened in January, 2015. In addition to our regular fundraising activities to support Summit County Library programs such as the children’s reading programs, expansion of the downloadable e-book and audio book collections and funding for library community relations, the Foundation helped fund equipment purchases including the microfiche available at the main library. Most recently funded are the Lego Clubs at each of our branches.

Please see the our 2015 Annual Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015 and the Form 990 for the same period.

The Foundation Board

The Executive Board consists of Pat Taylor, Chairman, Donna Mahon, Vice-Chairman, Cass Dombrowski, Treasurer, and Mary Lynne Kneller, Secretary.

The remaining members of the Board are Leah Arnold, Dana Christiansen, Joyce Dierauer, Paul Olson, Elizabeth Lowe, Kristina Nethaway, and Barbara Perry.

The Foundation is looking for dedicated volunteer board members to help guide the foundation in our next development phase. Since finishing the capital campaign for the South Branch Library, we are striving to enhance programming and fulfill equipment needs at our three libraries. Individuals with a passion for the library are welcome to apply. Please contact Pat Taylor at
